About the Role

The Senior Piping Designer will lead piping design efforts from concept through construction, developing detailed 3D models, isometrics, and construction deliverables while ensuring field constructability and code compliance.

Requirements

Turnaround EPC is seeking an experienced Senior Piping Designer who is open to travel in support of high-impact industrial projects, including turnarounds, outages, and capital improvements across the energy and process industries.


Key Qualifications

  • 10+ years of piping design experience in refinery, petrochemical, or industrial plant environments

  • Extensive field experience with demonstrated understanding of real-world constructability, installation sequencing, and turnaround execution

  • Strong proficiency in Autodesk Plant 3D (modeling, isometrics, spec-driven design)

  • Proven experience producing:

    • Piping layouts and equipment arrangements

    • Isometric drawings and spool packages

    • Pipe support details and construction deliverables

  • Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards (ASME B31.3, piping specs, industry best practices)

  • Ability to coordinate with engineering, stress analysis, and field teams

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage 3D piping models and design packages for industrial projects

  • Generate construction-ready deliverables (isometrics, layouts, support details)

  • Perform field walkdowns and integrate as-built conditions into design

  • Ensure designs are aligned with construction execution strategy and schedule

  • Coordinate across disciplines to optimize system layout, safety, and constructability

  • Support production-driven design approaches to improve project flow and efficiency
